Founded in 1994 Barracuda holdings has provided
quality electronics for over 25 years.

Barracuda Holdings is a private company with shareholding split equally between the two founding partners, Ryan Webb and Rob Steltman. Rob Steltman is a graduate Electronic Technologist from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology who has been active in the electronic manufacturing industry since 1994. Having co-founded a large contract assembler that employed 350 staff at its peak, he moved on from this company in 2008 to pursue other interests.

Ryan Webb has worked closely with Rob Steltman since 2000, heading up operations and key account management. He is a B.Com graduate with strong technical knowledge and business skills.

In 2010 Rob and Ryan combined their 27 years of technical, industry and business experience to establish Barracuda Holdings. The ambition – to create a flexible, customer focused, competitive manufacturing business to enhance the electronics manufacturing capability in Cape Town.

Supporting Rob and Ryan is a passionate and dynamic team comprising industry experience and youthful energy. Being an owner-driven private company with a passionate ’can do‘ company culture combined with innovative systems, processes and appropriate equipment, has led Barracuda into its fifth year of business with continuous year on year growth.

Both Ryan and Rob are passionate about the country, industry and company. By remaining ’owner driven‘, their passion is reflected by the staff and shows in the way that every action within the company forms a chemistry that is essential in this highly complex and service oriented business.

Experience

Top management each have in excess of 15 years’ individual experience in electronics assembly. All staff are well trained and/or qualified in their relevant areas of work.

Adaptive and Flexible

Being able to adapt to new ideas, technologies and structures is fundamental to Barracuda. Being flexible is key in getting products to market quickly and meeting changing demands. Barracuda is set up for manufacture with the aim of being flexible in all aspects of the organisation.

Barracuda is very aware that cost is one of the greatest driving forces in this industry. Quality and delivery are givens and not a sales pitch, and the company promises to work with its customers to be globally competitive. Barracuda is able to provide solutions to achieve competitive costs on an equal playing field.

Costing of products is always done with the greatest of attention to detail, ensuring the best possible price for the customer while preserving sufficient margin to allow for a sustainable business and investment in new technology and skills. By working closely with the customer, focusing on ease of manufacture, process optimisation, supply chain control, lean manufacturing and greater vertical integration, Barracuda has proven its global competitiveness with product being shipped by its customers all around the world.
